Description

The ERASMUS+ Knowledge Alliance "Microelectronics Cloud Alliance - MECA" brings together higher education institutions and small and medium enterprises to develop Cloud-based European infrastructure and organisation for education in microelectronics providing a range of open educational resources, remote access and sharing of educational and professional software, remote and practice-based learning facilities.

Le projet ERASMUS+ Knowledge Alliance "Microelectronics Cloud Alliance - MECA" regroupe des établissements d'enseignement supérieur ainsi que des petites et moyennes entreprises afin de développer une infrastructure européenne en nuage et de l'organisation de l'éducation en microélectronique offrant une gamme de ressources éducatives ouvertes, l'accès à distance et le partage de logiciels éducatifs et professionnel, et des ressources d'enseignement basées sur des approches pratiques.

The partners will jointly develop e-learning courses on Computer-Aided-Design and technologies, test, and application of integrated circuits and systems, delivered as Open Educational Resources to strengthen the virtual mobility. Each university will provide remote access to its facilities, laboratory experiments/software systems for the partners in a cloud teaching system, giving them access to new resources. Les partenaires développeront conjointement des cours en e-learning en lien avec la conception assistée par ordinateur et le test des circuits et systèmes intégrés, fourniront des  ressources éducatives libres pour renforcer la mobilité virtuelle. Chaque université offrira un accès à distance à ses installations, ses laboratoires expériementaux et ses plateformes logicielles pour créer un système d'enseignement distribué, donnant l'accès à des ressources complémentaires et innovantes.

Learning Outcomes - Electromagnetic Compatibility of Integrated Circuits


Abstract

INSA Toulouse has developped a course focused on Electromagnetic Compatibility of Integrated Circuits, with practical training based on IC-EMC freeware tool & EMC lab used for practical sessions. The course is provided for initial and continuing education, with quality labels such as Eurodots & Eurotraining. The freeware tool IC-EMC, co-authored by Etienne SICARD & Alexandre BOYER, capitalizes the research expertise developped through 10 European & national projects since 2005, as well as 15 PhD student cas studies. Application notes and manuals are available on-line. IC-EMC also serves as demonstrator of International Standards from IEC, IBIS, and promotes the vision of INSA regarding IC EMC modeling (IEC 62 433 “ICEM, ICIM”) and measurement standards (IEC 62 132 “NFSI”, "x-DPI").

A book has been written as part of MECA project dissemination, introducing Electromagnetic Compatibility of Integrated Circuits, South University Press, Toulouse.

Learning Outcomes - Nano-CMOS cell design


Abstract

INSA Toulouse has developped a course focused on nano-CMOS cell design with practical training based on Microwind educational tool. The course is provided for initial education. Basic logic cells such as inverters, nand, nor, xor, memories such as RS, D-Reg, 6-transistor RAM are covered, with performance simulation. Analog cells are also introduced (OpAmp, converters) with trade-off between power, precision, manufacturability and robustness to process variations. New topics such as FinFET (14-nm and below) & 3D-ICs, link to IBIS for multi-gigabit input/output interfacing is being developed as part of MECA project.
